Project Brief:
When the clients — affluent yet deeply grounded — approached us, their brief was refreshingly clear. They sought a home that embodied luxury without ostentation; a space where elegance could coexist with warmth, and sophistication could feel lived in rather than displayed.
We called it The Modern Script because it unfolds like a story—contemporary in design, yet deeply personal. Every space is a chapter shaped by trust, restraint, and elegance, reflecting the clients’ lives with quiet sophistication.
The design vision became about crafting a residence where contemporary refinement and functionality met with tactile richness and artisanal detail. Every corner was conceived not just as a room, but as an experience: quiet luxury revealed through materiality, meticulous craftsmanship, and an unwavering attention to detail.
Entry Patio
The journey begins with the entry patio — a transitional threshold neither entirely outside nor in. We treated this as a grounding pause before entry, designing it to whisper sophistication rather than announce it. Granite flooring in alternating polished and leather finishes creates a rhythm of subtle stripes underfoot, while ribbed sandstone walls enrich the space with texture that ages beautifully with time. The main door, in solid walnut-stained wood, is anchored with a custom brass handle running across its length, sharpened with a black metal inlay. Every element here was conceived to balance solidity and refinement — a quiet prologue to what lies inside.
Foyer
Where the patio is about transition, the foyer declares. A bold composition of black-and-white marble bands creates a graphic geometry on the floor, grounding the arrival with strength and order. A sleek shoe cabinet, modest in scale, is elevated with brass detailing — profiles and skirting that add understated luxury. The fabric blind with gold foil detailing tempers light with quiet richness, while the sculptural staircase beyond becomes a backdrop: white marble treads framed with walnut paneling and a sharp black metal handrail and clear glass. The foyer is deliberately theatrical, setting the tone for a home where boldness meets restraint.
Living Room
The living area is a study in understated elegance. The feature wall is articulated with custom panels and brass inlays, offering depth without dominance. Italian seating, chosen for timeless form, is paired with sculptural center table and layered with art and accessories — every piece curated to balance formality with warmth. Muted greys and soft blushes, metallic accents, and tactile layering come together to create a living room that feels both refined and inviting. Here, modern luxury reveals itself not through spectacle, but through orchestration of details.
Staircase & Console
The staircase, the home’s vertical spine, was imagined as sculpture. Each tread in white marble stands monolithic, offset by walnut-clad walls and a black linear handrail. At its base sits a console from Dtale Modern — bold, black, sculptural — its brass accents striking against stone and wood. Positioned as a vignette beside the powder bath, this corner becomes both functional and memorable.
Family Room
The family room sits as the emotional core — a space for gathering, unwinding, and intimacy. A slide-and-fold glass partition allows it to open into the formal living or stay private for quiet evenings. Italian seating provides comfort and elegance, anchored by a custom metallic coffee table in tones of brass, antique, and copper. A White Domus installation adds a bold artistic gesture, while the television wall, clad in striking Panda marble, provides strength and contrast. Natural light, tactility, and curated art blend to make this a room where luxury feels personal.
Ground Floor Powder Room
This powder room was designed as a jewel-box. White Statuario marble is detailed with subtle scallop etching, contrasted dramatically by Nero Marquina inserts. A monolithic marble wash basin is paired with a Gessi Pebble faucet, sculptural in presence. The space is moody, immersive, and unapologetically luxurious — a moment of artful pause.

Dining & Kitchen
The first-floor dining area balances opulence with intimacy. A Cattelan Italia marble dining table with a sinuous brass base anchors the space, surrounded by Eforma chairs — two in burgundy for deliberate contrast. A bold chandelier above casts warm light. On one side, a media-cum-crockery unit features green marble inlay against a veneer backdrop, while on the other, the Italian modular kitchen from Copatlife unfolds in neutral tones, framed by black-and-white marble thresholds. It is a dining room that feels functional for everyday meals yet sophisticated for gatherings.
Vanity
The vanity beside dining was conceived as a dramatic intervention. Deep green marble and black mosaic tiles clad the walls, with a custom marble basin crafted on-site. A ceiling-mounted Gessi faucet turns this functional corner into a statement — rich, unexpected, and memorable.
Mandir
The mandir is a sanctum of devotion and craft. Inspired by rangoli traditions, the entry flooring carries a marble inlay in green, white, and black. The door is an intricate screen of wood and brass inlays, each element deliberately placed. Inside, brass brick inlays run across marble counters and wall panel, with floral motifs repeated from the door to tie the narrative. The ceiling, finished in brass-toned texture paint and framed with carved wooden cornices, glows under a bespoke chandelier. This space is not just a mandir but an experience of reverence, detail, and timeless craftsmanship.
Parents’ Bedroom & Bath
The parents’ bedroom is a cocoon — grasscloth wallpaper behind the bed adds texture, while muted tones of beige and warm wood define calm. A sofa nook offers intimacy, wardrobes in beige integrate seamlessly, and a wooden niche dressing counter adds utility. The bath extends this mood, clad in grey marble with black inlay borders. The floating vanity with carved marble scallops and a bespoke basin ties with niches inside the shower — a narrative of refinement through detail.
Son’s Bedroom
This teenage retreat was designed with boldness and maturity. A custom striped headboard in teal, blush, and mustard suede sits beneath racing artwork — playful yet grown-up. Wardrobes in beige with green accents balance function, while a veneered shelving unit personalises the space. The study desk by the window is bathed in light, while soft furnishings and tonal layering give the room character and comfort. It is designed to evolve as the occupant does.
Passage
The second-floor passage becomes a transition of rhythm and light. White marble with bold black inlay creates directionality, while glass balustrades open sightlines. A wooden ceiling adds warmth overhead, softening stone and glass. At one end, the glimpse of the master suite signals destination — making circulation feel purposeful.
Guest Bedroom
Here, subtle sophistication defines the design. A ribbed marble dado with brass sconces forms the bed backdrop, complemented by a muted upholstered headboard. Taupe wardrobes blend into the architecture, while a console and art add punctuation. Drapery softens light and mood. It is a suite of quiet luxury — welcoming yet expressive of the home’s DNA.
Study
Compact but considered, the study is both private and connected. Overlooking the dining on one side and balcony on the other, it is designed for light and focus. Muted cabinetry, a clean desk, and a playful colour drenched shelf detail balance function with warmth. It is a retreat for work and reflection — simple yet deeply intentional.
Master Bedroom
The master suite is the home’s pinnacle of craftsmanship. At its heart lies a swivelling partition — one side a television, the other art — engineered for adaptability. The bed backdrop is a labour-intensive marble composition with scalloped trims, painstakingly cut and aligned by artisans, framed in warm wood. A plush headboard, cascading pendant lights, and tactile fabrics layer refinement with comfort. Beyond, a lounge nook overlooks both dining and balcony, anchored by a sculptural chair and floor lamp — an intimate retreat within the suite.
Master Closet
The master closet feels like a private atelier. Bronze-tinted glass shutters reveal curated accessories and conceal storage, while a mirrored vanity wall expands space visually. The muted palette and metallic detailing add quiet indulgence. It is efficient yet elegant — everyday functionality elevated by design.
Master Bath
Here, craftsmanship is paramount. Grey marble walls are carved with fluted grooves, demanding precision and patience. A marble inlay border defines the floor, while carved niches with profile lighting add function and glow. The fluted marble vanity and shower enclosure with black fixtures extend the language. This bathroom is less a utilitarian space and more a spa-like retreat.
Master Balcony
Extending from the suite, the balcony is framed with wood and metal fins for intimacy. A bespoke swing becomes its anchor — playful yet elegant — surrounded by layered tropical greens. It is a sanctuary between indoors and out, where architecture meets nature in a moment of quiet pause.
Home Theatre
Designed as a cocoon, the home theatre is immersive and moody. Acoustic wall panels with concealed profile lighting create rhythm, while step lights guide circulation. Deep red recliners anchor the palette, contrasting with dark textures. Every surface is crafted for sound, comfort, and drama. It is indulgence, designed with precision.
Third-Floor Powder Room
A study in bold contrast, this powder room surprises. White marble-tiled walls are edged with blue subway tiles, the colour of which extend onto the ceiling, creating a striking crown. A floating black vanity and matte black WC ground the space, while graphic patterned flooring injects character. It is compact but rich with intent — playful and elegant at once.
Covered Terrace
The covered terrace is an urban lounge — flooring with intricate inlay patterns sets the stage, while the benchs anchor gatherings. The showstopper here is the Gimo bespoke bar cabinet, sculptural in its presence, with mirrored interiors and textured exteriors. Paired with warm lights and soft drapery, this terrace blurs leisure and sophistication.
Open Terrace
Stepping out, the terrace opens to air and sky. A pergola filters light, framing the open view. A built-in bench, woven furniture, and lush greens transform it into a resort-like setting. At its heart, a water feature in leather-finish granite ripples softly — tactile, elemental, and grounding. This is a terrace imagined for reflection and pause, where craft and nature converge.
In its entirety, this home is a study in contemporary luxury — bold yet understated, indulgent yet grounded. Every space was conceived with thought, refined with detail, and executed with painstaking craftsmanship. Here, marble is not just stone but narrative, swings become sanctuaries, terraces transform into retreats. Luxury is not loud; it is felt in textures, rhythms, and subtleties. This home is not a showpiece but a sanctuary — an architecture of elegance where modernity and craft find quiet harmony.
